Published Thu 17 Jul 2025
A new era for rowing in Luxembourg!

On July 15, the municipal council unanimously approved the project for the "National Rowing Centre"!

A modern rowing hall will soon be built in Schwéidsbeng near the port, which will not only appeal to athletes from all over the country,
but will also become an important sporting point on the Moselle!

We are looking forward to the new chapter of Luxembourg's water sports!

You can watch the presentation on the Schengen commune YouTube channel (in Luxembourgish)
The funding is about 1 million EUR (70% from the Ministry of Sports and 30% from the commune).
The call for tenders will be launched in September-October for a probable execution in spring 2026.
A new pontoon is also part of this project, longer but still not permanent on the Mosel because of a narrow river at our location.
We will have a 21 m long model instead of the current 15 m which will allow the launch of two long 4 seats boats.
We look forward to this and thank the Schengen Municipality Council for approving this project,
which will enable the region and the country of Luxembourg to develop this fantastic sport!
