The Luxembourg International Rowing Club started its 2011 season on April 02.
Following on from the successful series of beginners' sessions since 2003, the club offeres a similar programme every year, next course will be starting 15.5.2012, 18:30.

All experienced rowers and beginners of last years course are invited to become a LIRC member and join the regular traingtimes on Wednesday evenings at 18:30 (only in summer) and Saturday mornings at 10:00.
Please don´t go rowing without supervision of an experienced member!!!
Maybe contact an experienced member before the trainig to make sure there will be a supervisor available.



As our membership is truly international - we are from Luxemburg, Germany, France, Belgium, UK, Italy, Malta, Slovakia, Ireland, Spain, Netherlands, Greece, USA, Canada, New Zealand... - we speak English, French, German, Luxembourgian and other languages, as appropriate.

The Defi Hyposwiss 38. TOUR DU LÉMAN - 160 km Marathonregatta.


Quote of press release by the organizers:
"Avec son tracé de 160km à réaliser non-stop (départ à la Société Nautique de Genève, aller par la côte suisse, puis retour sur Genève, par la côte française), le Défi Hyposwiss Tour du Léman à l’Aviron, est la plus longue course en bassin fermé du monde et l’une des plus importantes
manifestations internationales d’aviron d’endurance. Mondialement reconnue, la course attire chaque année de véritables sportifs d’élite, parmi lesquels certains n’hésitent pas à qualifier cette épreuve de "Königin der Regatten", reine des régates."

Unfortunately the LIRC doesn´t own a boat for that kind of a race. Therefore 2 LIRC-rowers formed a mixed crew with 3 rowers from german clubs and rented a boat in Genève.
Sponsoring or donations for buying a regatta-quadboat for the next Eurega or tour de lac are welcome.
