Rack crashed at the marina

Published Thu 06 Feb 2020

The whole rack holding the 4 winter boats has fallen down on the pontoon over the last week-end due to a strong wind.

The boats were still hanging on their support arms.

Thanks to 9 members who volunteered on Thursday evening, we were able to unload the boats from the rack

and bring them back to the hangar for a health check.  We had to use our safety boat to be able to access the pontoon.

At first sight, we do not see major damages and we are overall quite lucky at the end!

Some oarlock pins will have to be replaced and riggers be controlled to see if they are all still aligned properly before moving back to the river.

Outings are anyways not possible at the present time, considering the high level of the Moselle river.

The river height is still around 6.40m far above our limit of 3.20m.  Remich city center is always closed due to the flooding.

We will issue a new communication as soon as all is again back in place.

Therefore the winter sessions over the next two week-ends have been removed from the calendar.

Please be patient - We thank you for your understanding.
